Halloween Wig | How To Make A Cruella Deville Wig

As a baldie & everyday wig wearer, I really dread wearing Halloween wigs because they look so so awful and boy are they itchy and hot! This year I decided to have some fun with it and I thought I would share how I customized a cheap $12 Amazon wig. Watch YouTube Video Below.

The first tip that I have is to go light! Blonde, white, silver, lighter wigs will always look more realistic than darker wigs. The second tip I have is to wear bangs, please don't even try to pull off a cheap-looking lace front because you will be so itchy and the lace front won't sit snugly against your head. The third tip, get it cut by a stylist! I can't tell you how big of a difference this will make.  Framing the wig to fit your face/frame will make you more comfortable and oddly enough it will actually make the wig look more flattering. I went to supercuts and got this wig cut for $20 which was so worth it! The fourth tip I have is to use dry shampoo to take away the shine factor - this works so so well. The fifth tip, tease the root and use a texture spray to add some depth to the wig. Finally, have some fun with the colored hair spray.  I really hate the two-toned look of the Cruella Deville wigs on the market so I decided to add some spots using kitchen and garage tools to get different shapes.  Finally, I used walker wig tape (extra strength) to secure the wig down and for comfort. I placed the wig tape in the areas where I normally get itchy - ear tabs, top/hairline placement and nape. All and all, the wig felt secure and overall I was pretty happy with the outcome although I was a bit worried about the wefts showing through when the wind picked up.

Anyways, happy Halloween ladies!  Hope you all had a great one! If you are interested a learning more about me check out my alopecia story below:
