Yes, you can dye and tone a human hair wigs. At Encelia Hair, we only use Remy human hair and this hair can be dyed a darker color or toned. We do not recommend using bleach because the hair has already been dyed at our manufacture, adding bleach can damage the cuticle and it can be challenging to close again. Instead we recommend, buying a color that is the lightest highlight that you want to have and then having a professional colorist add lowlights with a darker dye. • Sits snug, glueless: Our lace front will sit snug against your head without the need for glue or adhesive due to it's innovative internal soft silicone headband, which grips to your head and keeps your lace front down. No glue is needed, just put it on and go.
• Perfectly sized: we offer five cap sizes, which helps keep your lace front secure and prevents rubbing throughout the day.

Our normal lace front (open) is one layer of Swiss lace, which makes it easy to wear your hair off of our face because it recreates the look of a natural hairline.

Our closed lace front is made with a 1/8" folded Swiss lace, which makes the front of the wig to sit super flat and snug against the forehead, which makes it ideal for:

1. Fringe or Bangs: your bangs will sit put and look good all day
2. Women with enough hair in the front and can pull it forward (toppers wearers)

Most lace front wigs require glue or adhesive to prevent the lace from lifting throughout the day. At Encelia, we believe a wig should be functional and easy to wear. Therefore, our lace front wig is glueless because it has an internal soft, silicone wig grip, which grips to the head and keeps your lace front firmly in place all day.

Many women get overwhelmed with cutting lace front wigs so at Encelia, our lace front wigs come pre-cut with baby hairs cut in so you don't have to worry about a wig. But, the lace is delicate so we know that you will have to trim your lace every six months or so. Click here to see a detailed step by step tutorial.

The lace front is the most delicate part of a wig. In general, you don't really want to mess with your lace front so try to keep it makeup free. Lace can easily rip, stretch and fay so great care should go into cleaning it. If you need to remove makeup, it's best to just let the wig sit in a basin filled with a moisturizing shampoo. Do not rub, pick or use makeup remover.

If you used glue or adhesive, contact the company that makes the glue or other adhesive to learn the best ways to remove or deactivate the adhesive.

At Encelia, because we want your lace front wig to last a year and half to two years we have purposely designed our lace front wig to sit snug so that you don't need to use adhesives.

At Encelia, the lifespan of your lace front wig will vary depending on its maintenance, frequency of use, and the hair type you choose:

• Remy Human Hair: 16 to 24 months
• Luxury Synthetic: 12 to 15 months
• Heat Friendly Synthetic: 6 to 8 months

Proper care and products will help prolonging its lifespan but about half way through it's life you will need to trim the lace because the lace will fray and you will lose hair. Click here for a detailed tutorial on how to trim your lace front.

We do not recommend sleeping in a lace front wig because the lace is so delicate. A better option is our headband wig because it's lace free, flexible and super comfy.

We understand that letting go of a wig is hard because they are expensive to buy. Here are some helpful tips on when and how to recycle a wig.

• Are you worried or thinking about the wig when your wearing it? Maybe it's too thin or has a hole or the lace front just isn't looking right. In general, if you are concerned about how your wig looks then it might be time to let it go.
• Is it itchy or uncomfortable? Has the hair "inverted" into the cap? When hair inverts or comes inside the cap it can be very itchy and it might be time to retire it. Does it fit well? Wigs that are too big feel you with fear and wigs that are too small can cause tension headache.

Notice how we don't mention the condition of the hair. That is because most hair can be restored. For human hair wigs, consider doing an overnight keratin, deep moisturizing mask. For synthetic, try restoring the fiber with water and a flat iron. If the hair still doesn't look the way you want, try re-toning or coloring your wig. And, if that doesn't work retire it.
